Re: Visiting Salem

Charlie Brown, a friend and I make an annual pilgrimage to Salem, usually in October. I recommend you start with the Salem Trolley tour, which lasts about an hour, and takes you all over the village, as well as a little ways out of town and back. The guide will point out historic homes, places where...

On to Friday and Saturday: Shark (action) and Rough Seas (the unexpected). https://s15.postimg.cc/tvjdzrk2f/SWRCShark.jpg https://s15.postimg.cc/64k0hrmh3/SWRCroughseas.jpg Friday saw action on several fronts -- our end-of-summer carnival is moving ahead, this month's book order is done, I'm expande...

Re: Deck of the Week # 28: July 9 - July 15

This is the first week of my library's summer programming, so it's been busy! However, I have been continuing with my daily draws. Below are yesterday's card: the Mangroves, and Wednesday's card: Pelican. https://s15.postimg.cc/sodpw1xwn/SWRCs.jpg Mangroves represent innovation, the advantage of try...

Tuesday's card: Turtle

Instinct. Trusting that what you are called to is right.

I'm not sure how that fits into today, but perhaps it represents something that is coming soon.

Re: Deck of the Week # 28: July 9 - July 15

I think there's a common theme for today. My card for Monday: the Crocodile. https://s15.postimg.cc/pyvwm8f5j/SWRCCrocodile.jpg It's supposed to symbolize hidden obstacles and unseen issues, but I had enough regular, obvious obstacles that I'll just take that meaning instead. Staff members not doing...

Re: Deck of the Week # 28: July 9 - July 15

I'm going to continue on with the Saltwater Reading Cards this week. I dropped out of sight last week because I was attending a convention and it was just super busy.

Re: Deck Of The Week #27: July 2nd - July 8th

Given that yesterday was a US holiday, today's post ended up being a two-for-one. So, Wednesday's card: Manta Ray. https://s33.postimg.cc/ni1ouvf8b/SWRCManta_Ray.jpg Yesterday, a friend stopped over and helped my install my air conditioner before going to his 4th of July celebration. Today's card: C...

Re: Deck Of The Week #27: July 2nd - July 8th

So, Tuesday's Card: the Sea Sponge. https://s33.postimg.cc/rjq4m9qgr/SWRCSponge.jpg Emotional overload. A sponge is a filter feeder, if I recall correctly. It draws in a bunch of water, filters out what it needs, and expels the rest. This card is about working through emotion, about experiencing it ...

Re: Deck Of The Week #27: July 2nd - July 8th

Love the art on this card, DDwarks. I'll have to look for more images of this deck. I'm sorry you're experiencing the bigotry that seems so prevalent these days. We've got a fair amount of stupid going on here in the US as well. I hope things get better for you. There's no excuse for treating people...

Re: Deck Of The Week #27: July 2nd - July 8th

This week I'm planning to work with the Salt Water Reading Cards, which I recently acquired and which were inspired by Aboriginal Australian art.

I finally feel like working with beach- and ocean-related decks, but don't be surprised if the Ghost Tarot shows up here in the next couple of months....
