Well, look at this! After my rant about the 3 of Swords yesterday, now the tarot is rubbing my nose in it.

My "blueprint" card for today is the Queen of Swords (my wife's Significator), and my "action" card is the 3 of Swords. Maybe she will piss me off today, or vice versa. Treading carefully is probably in order. I don't like that severed head.

Here is my blueprint for the week, Thoth again:

No Swords! Isn't that reassuring ;-)

My blueprint card for today:

I love the Ace of Cups, who doesn't? I love the way it's painted. Once, when I was an art student, I painted my own version of that Ace. It was like a long meditation, it felt so good. Where may that painting be now? It got lost many years ago. Sometimes I'm sorry because I know I could never paint it again. I'm in another place now, and I didn't make art for ages. But I remember how great it felt.

Indeed today I feel a lot of love floating around me. The house is cozy, there's a little storm outside, and there are hugs and kind words in this house.

And my situational card:

:icon_rolleyes:

Did anyone say a word about Swords?

So in all this family atmosphere of love and comfort (we have to comfort my youngest about the loss of her cat who didn't come home for ten days now - and what a cat he was, we all loved him), there is a disturbing voice. But I dealt with him already ;-)

Let's have another picture of the cat. We're all in mourning and giving extra love to my daughter and also to the other cats.

The Beauty came out at the same time as The Puzzle much to my disappointment and puzzlement. How likely is that to happen twice? I must have missed something significant yesterday by not paying attention to every little minute of it!. Why else would it come up a second time.

Perfect. :icon_twisted:

The Puzzle can be about a blockage to plans and progress as well as action needing to be taken even if undecided. There are a few options which means one might be a good one and the other not so good.

Great Happiness is one of the best cards to get in the Mystical Kipper that can balance out anything negative as well as stand for success, answers, wealth etc.

So, maybe today is one day that I will solve a puzzle in my life and take some kind of action because what ever I decide to do it will be successful. Might very well be to do with The Beauty card in some way from image, hidden sensitivity, to love.

Gees, I hope it is something simple and not complex, like deciding what is going to be for lunch perhaps as I can definitely see that being a hurdle.

So, I'm trying the deck of the week exercise. Because I'm new to all this and completely unfamiliar with the tarot cards this week I'm just pulling one card a day. I am using my Llewellyn deck, because the artwork is comfortable and interesting. It has a celtic theme to it, and being of Scottish heritage that appeals to me. I get to learn some celtic lore along the way.

Today's draw was The Lover's.

On this card is depicted the Dream of Macsen Wledig. This is supposed to be the story of a Roman emperor who had a dream about his ideal wife and then went in search for her, but being familiar with celtic things Wledig seems more in line with Celts than Romans.

Information about the card from my book is: Union of opposites; The promise or potential for love and romance; Partnership; Attraction, chemistry, lust; Magnetism; Harmony; Joy; Play; Humor; Romantic interlude or amorous encounter; Restless imagination; The crystallizing, projecting process of "blind love"; High hopes; Flare of desire; Friendship, admiration and affection; Communion; Sharing; On a deeper level it can represent the transformational power of love; Inspiring feats to attain or secure love; Being made brave by love; Conviction and commitment; The mystic bond of familiar spirits; Mutual understanding; Fusion and energy; A pact; Symptoms of love (i find this phrasing kind of humorous): anxiety, vulnerability, short attention span; Being made useless by love; Poetry, daydreams, music; Expanding experience; Loss of the rational; Gratitude; Can represent a choice between what is desired and what is acceptable; Assessment; If a decision is involved, indicates happy outcome after struggles.

Not sure what to make of the card or where to go with it. On a humorous note, hubby stayed home sick today, so I'm "stuck" with my lover at the house being a pain in the butt. He feels bad, but not back enough to stay in bed all day, so he wanders the house, putters a little, gets tired, takes a nap, gets up, wanders the house wanting something to eat but not in the mood to eat anything we have, etc.

Considering my embarking on this journey of tarot exploration perhaps it refers to "Expanding experience."

It's after midnight, and since tomorrow I may be far from the computer, I'll post my cards for Tuesday now:

Image

Another ace, that's good - I hope that there is much potential floating around in my life because I feel a bit perspective-less after quitting my old job... and if there's a material side to this potential, all the better. Two aces one after the other are a good sign.

Image

Again, the daily action or situational card is a little dampener. The Hanged One - didn't see this guy for some time. Did I say that I feel perspective-less? I should change my perspective.

Let's hope it doesn't mean that in tomorrow's lecture, all the slides will be upside down ;-)

The Beauty and The Puzzle came out to play today and not in a way I would have expected.

My hair.

I love and enjoy my hair being pampered and fussed over - even if it means sitting still for 3 or 4 hours!

The major dilemma today so far has been should I keep my appointment or should I cancel and reschedule it as my hair is still in top notch form.

I just called to see if it can be rescheduled for next month.

I have been deliberating over what to do since this morning and have actually been delaying everything and putting it off. It may be simple for some, but not for me.

I LOVE MY HAIR BEING DONE!

Yet to see how the Kipper card, Great Happiness, falls into place as I would say it was not a happy moment making that phone call.

I am in good spirits on the whole though.

The Blueprint card from my Halloween deck today is Queen of Ghosts (Cups).

Image

And my action card from Paulina is Four of Cups.

Image

Together we see the contrast. A queen, a mature woman, who is paying attention to the wee ghost that flies upfront of her. And a girl who is somewhat petulantly and defensively trying to ignore the spirit that offers her a cup.

Image

Hmmm. Is this two aspect to myself today that I need to resolve? The chance to emotionally connect, empathise and put visions into action vs being emotionally distant, feeling unmotivated and closed to opportunities?

Is the Queen another woman that will gee my sorry self up?

Or is the Queen me and I my challenge for today is to re-engage the more disinterested members of my team?

My background or blueprint card for today is the 4 of Swords reversed, and my foreground or action card is the 7 of Swords. The Golden Dawn title for the former is "Rest from Strife" and the Thoth title for the latter is "Lord of Futility." Looks like a day of low (or nil) accomplishment. I sometimes think of the 4 of Swords (and especially when reversed) as a justification for procrastinating, and the 7 of Swords makes me think getting much of anything done today is unlikely. Of course I will try anyway since I have things to do, but I expect resistance from circumstances.

Not sure how I feel about drawing two major arcana cards in a row, and two so close together in the deck numbering. I shuffled it very well.

The card I drew today is Strength. Hubby is home sick again today so I'm certainly going to need it, lol.

My book says this card means Triumph; Victory parade; Success of a multifaceted endeavor; Leadership, competence, and maturity; Conquest; An evolved personality; Courage; Being centered and secure; Moral, ethical progress and conduct; A high-minded honorable approach to life; Balance, integration; Harmony of opposite tensions; Equilibrium; Reconciling opposing forces or views; Uniting right and left brain functions; Control over inner conflicts; Harnessing wild energies; Life unfolding at an accelerated pace, yet maintaining direction; Finding one's stride; Enjoying the thrill and ride of life; Engaging an ambition or dream; Achievement; High energy; Promotion, honors, and reward; Overcoming opposition; May indicate a rescue, as in the arrival of the cavalry.

Like I said, seeing as hubby is home sick again today, there will be a need for harmony of opposite tensions, control over inner conflicts and the harnessing of wild energies, lol. He is a pain in the butt when he's sick. I will certainly feel the need of rescue!

The Liar (29)

Interesting pull to go with Court Person.

No court for me today that I know of or being in trouble with the law.

I do know the manager had court yesterday and today over a bad tenant or two, but outside of that I'll have to see what unfolds today (or not) elsewhere.

Court person can also mean things like a traffic tickets, tax issues, penalties, and/or fines etc.

As for The Liar - something is not as it seems or someone is lying to me. Maybe I am lying to myself or whoever. It could be just that someone is wearing a mask - happy on the outside, but grieving on the inside. In addition, maybe there is something that is only on the surface and I need to look at it more deeply.

Whatever it is - is anyone's guess. I have no idea, but gee whiz I hope I am not going to be arrested for something like posting images of the Gilded Reverie Lenormand, Sybilla, or Gypsy Oracle.
