Dousing Anyone?

Post by Arcange » 12 Jul 2017, 12:07

I've always been curious about dousing. Does anyone do it? Is it like using a pendulum?

A friend of the family got into dousing when a developer was planning some building on a neighbouring field. He correctly identified the location of the natural water sources underground that feed into his house and was able to show these would be compromised. I believe he got the rods from 'a man down the pub' but it was incredible when he showed us. They consistently swung inwards and crossed at certain locations. That's my only experience I'm afraid.

I thought dowsing was another form of using the pendulum as in another name for it. I have used the pendulum a few times for yes no answers. It is interesting and very easy to do but it is limiting as far as I am aware as you can only ask for a 'yes', 'no' or 'maybe' type answers.
I don't have a proper pendulum but use one necklace with a crystal.

I can try it for someone if you have a question for fun.

Regards
Tara

Dowsing I think is the name for the act of searching for things hidden. A rod or wand or pendulum are I guess the tools of the trade.

So makes sense you can dowse for answers or predictions as these are hidden from view.

I admit I was thinking more of this kind of Dowsing:

actually favorite tool was a branch that looks like a Y. preferably willow and you held the to ends at the top of the way and the middle would guide you.

What did the rods look like? What were they made of?

Wow that's really cool.

I saw a German documentary that explained how people's hands made an involuntary movement when the passed over a telluride field. They used this to explain the rods moving and also to explain whe certain roads had high ratios of accidents. They said that water passed under the road in a specific spot and caused people's hands to involuntarily jerk.

Well it certainly works, even if I don't entirely understand why.
