Witch's Runes

Post by Diorbhail » 06 Jul 2017, 16:16

I often use the Witch's Runes for divination other than Tarot. I read a book by Susan Sheppard which inspired me to make my own. I've made them with wooden disks and a pyrography tool, pebble, glass beads and am about to experiment with clay! I find them particularly useful for short specific questions and often finish a tarot reading with a rune to sum it all up.

Can we buy them? How do they differ from Nordic runes?

There are thirteen Witch's Runes and the symbols are clearer, I believe, to decipher. If you google "Witch's Runes" you will be able to see some images. I do make and sell them, though I have exhausted my supply at the moment. I will be making some more hopefully this weekend as time is the issue. Despite my mature years I still have day job so can only indulge in the stuff I really enjoy at the weekends.

What are the runes made of?

A friend of mine made runes with deer antlers that he found in the woods.

I don't connect with the Runes, but the Witches's Runes are more interesting. I bought my set on ebay and it's very pretty, it's made of cherry wood, and they come in a pretty bag. He/she (the seller on ebay) doesn't have any set at the moment but he/she also makes regular runes too, they appear regularly, just have to wait.

I like them. You can see the Lenormand influence in them, they're like a reduced Lenormand in some ways.
I've had a set in amethyst for years now. They come in handy on the reading table, and they look cool.

I am interested in getting some, so many wonderful things to learn and do, but so little time and money.
