Chatting for us who tell old-fashioned fortunes

Post by Grizabella » 05 Feb 2018, 22:03

This is so wonderful. I look forward to seeing others join who also read fortunes and others who want to learn how. Those who are just curious are more than welcome to join in, too. :icon_e_biggrin:

The further along I get in my studies of cartomancy, the more interested I am in this kind of reading. It started when I started working with the Tarot de Marseille, which I treat very much like a different method of reading and not just as a different deck. I like how can easily be used to answer very mundane questions such as "what should I make for dinner?" Those sorts of questions just don't read well with a Thoth, if you ask me. In learning about that, I'm seeing how common ways of using TdM are very similar to other types of classic cartomancy like Lenormand and playing cards. I got Andy B's Lenormand book for Christmas and its been quite educational.

I would love to learn “old fashioned” fortune telling. I wouldn’t have a clue where to start though.

Would you be interested in teaching others Grizabella?
Come faeries take me out of this dull world. For I would ride with you upon the wind and dance upon the mountains like a flame. - W B Yeats

May you touch dragonflies and stars, dance with faeries and talk to the moon. - Unknown

I'll be happy to teach others. Maybe it's better if it's a mentoring situation. I think it will work best if I share what works for me and then just help others to find the techniques that work best for them, rather than coming from the angle that what I know is going to be true for everyone else. When you tell fortunes, you're learning to use and trust your own particular "psychic muscles" you might say, and not all fortune tellers' abilities work in the same way. They're part of our individual selves like the color of our hair and eyes for lack of a better analogy.

I’d love to join in the fun. The channeled readings I do might fit in.

Welcome! Your abilities for channeling will be a good tool to use for this, I'm sure.

Are you going to get into the Mystical Kipper?

Sure, we can get into it if you'd like. I have the Mystical Kipper and the Mystical Lenormand both. I know there's a book out in English on the Kipper in general but I don't have it. Do you?

There’s a book now??! All I have is the LWB but it’s in English. Plus, there was a guy on Youtube who was very informative, I forget his name offhand.
